Lovely Spring Day!

Lauren & Colin enjoyed playing out in the yard
today and we hope the good weather is here to stay. They posed for a photo by the lovely rhodo that blooms every year around Lauren's birthday. It sure is nice to spend some time outside!
Happy Spring!

Sun Run

Sean participated in the Sun Run today and it was the perfect day to be running. The weather was sunny and beautiful and everyone was in high spirits. Lauren, Colin & Char cheered on Sean as he finished the race with a time of 48.5 minutes. Great job on improving your time by 2.5 minutes from last year!

Palm Springs

Hello Everyone!
We just returned from a week in Palm Springs! We stayed at the Desert Princess Golf & Country Club in Cathedral City and it was wonderful. My parents (Mike & Diana) have rented a townhouse on the golf course and it was a lovely setting.

We decided to go to the Living Desert Zoo with the kids and they sure enjoyed themselves! Lauren & Colin loved seeing the giraffes, sheep, warthogs and camels. But they both had a fondness for turtles.
It seems that Colin liked the
fake turtles even more! We enjoyed watching the animal show and seeing the beautiful parrots and cats from Africa. We spent 5 hours at the zoo and we were glad that we had gone!

The biggest surprise was yet to come! We decided to take the kids to Disneyland on one of the days. We got up bright and early and headed for the happiest place on earth. Lauren didn't know where we were going and she didn't realize where we were until we got to the front gate. She was so excited, she could hardly contain herself. Courtney, Pat & Glen headed to the adult rides and the rest of us went on to Fantasyland and the kids rides.
The highlights of Disneyland for Lauren:
going on the Alice in Wonderland ride; the teacups; seeing the parade; going on Splash Mountain (yes she was just tall enough and she sure is a brave 4 year old!) and of course seeing Belle & Sleeping Beauty.
For Colin: seeing the parade; going on Buzz Lightyears Galaxy ride; Mr Toads Wild Ride; and seeing Winnie the Pooh, Tigger & Eeyore.
Of course they both loved It's a Small World (don't tell anyone, but so did the rest of us)

The kids had such a wonderful time, that they didn't want to go home.
But we spent 10 hours at the park and the adults were very tired! We spent the night in Costa Mesa, because we were going to go to the Orange County Market Fair the following day. It is the largest Swap Meet in North America.

There is everything that you could think of at this swap meet. Everything from knock- off Gucci purses to BMWs. Sean even tried on a fake ponytail hair piece and we got in trouble from the vendor for handling the merchandise!

On Sunday, it was time to go home and we sure were sad to leave Palm Springs. We arrived at the airport, just as Kris was coming off the plane. He was going to spend the next week with Mom & Dad.

Thanks to Mom & Dad for letting us stay! It was a wonderful vacation and we plan to return next year for 2 weeks!
